KEN’s architectural thinking has been shaped by an awareness
of the current economic and social context in Japan and globally.
Having lived and worked across cities in southern and central China,
as well as in Korea and the United States,
his sensibility has been formed through multiple cultural perspectives.
Influenced by architects such as Jo Nagasaka and Kazuo Shinohara,
his approach balances real-world constraints with an inquiry
into architectural essentials.
Through hands-on experience with clients, budgets, materials,
and construction processes, he favors reduction over excess,
seeking clarity, buildability, and what is fundamentally necessary.
